“When my husband and I first got our electric vehicle for our daily commute (in an effort to cut petrol costs), we didn’t fully understand the different charging options available to us. We initially decided to rely on public charging stations, but quickly realised the frustration of driving around, searching for a charger that was both available and in working order.

There were days I’d find myself sitting in the car, working while I waited for a charger, or I’d spend my Saturday afternoons at IKEA — not because I needed more furniture, but because it was the closest place with a charger.

I also started noticing that many of our neighbours had chargers sitting unused in their driveways most of the time. It felt like a missed opportunity. That’s when the idea for an ‘Airbnb for EV charging’ started to take shape. Later, we installed our own charger at home, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that it wasn’t fair for those who dont have that option.
